So I finally graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Media Arts and Animation! I have a few job leads, but due to the crumbling economy, its turning out to be the worst possible time in existence to have graduated. If I had only been a quarter ago, I know of two companies that I could have jump into. Moving into my new Place at 2nd and Tasker in Philly today also!

(1st pic) lil bro Xavier, lil sis Alishia, Myself, My Dad
(2nd Pic) My Uncle(dads identical twin), myself, My Dad- they use to look identical to me- now they gained weight.

Anyway, WooHoo!

Checks out my websites at

and yes, I plan on doing commissioned 3D- character work, for whoever wants-

4 tailed O'rf
a fictional creature I created in one of my stories. I changed it from its original yellow color to a more cold blue. I have been working very hard lately, and this quarter could be the death of me. I have so much work to do and not enough time to do it!!!! I have to produce my demo reel this quarter! Only one quarter left. I graduate in JUNE and boy am I gonna party!

Camaya
Anyway, I have also been working on a Gal to RIDE the O'rf. I realized that I had a lack of females in my character collection. I wanted to get away from a realistic female and really do a voluptuous obviously fictional "Night-Elf" kinda bod.

Soooooo my face definitely needs some work, but the body I think is good overall

I ate 3/4ths a large pizza and an order of Chicken Fingers that looked more like chicken patties.... and I am still hungry.... and I guarantee I don't even gain an ounce

So, behind in my work a lil- I Re Visited and fixed up my Miko- Model. I fixed some errors in the geometry, now I need to STL check it, just for sure before Skinning my Rig. Rigging, with my already made Rig... then animating-

Story- Mouse sneaks to steal a piece of cheese from a mouse traps, and begins to sneak away only to have the mouse trap/transformer transform and go after him.

MODEL                                                >                             WIREFRAME                                        > RIG

// thats my OLD Rig, BUT it works fine and I really don't have time finishing my new, more awesome rig, esp because its hella complicated and requires a lot of scripting and wiring. I have 12 pages of handouts and like 20 pages of notes on the other rig... I will save that for another day.... and writing this I realise my Rig is missing the TAIL!!!!! OH NOES!!!!! No problem a simple Spline IK back there Position contrained to the Pelvis bone

Just got back from my pre-production class and I feel groggy like I am getting sick or something..... OH NOES! I wish I had some medicine to avoid this.

Anywho- I started working on some of the backgrounds we don't have for the animatic due in 2 weeks.

Here is a really fast one I whipped up. I began basing it off of some photo I saw online (painting in photoshop getting ideas from the photo), however I soon got annoyed with it, changed and simplified things. Then, just to add a final touch, I threw those pink flowers in just to break up the monochromatic green.

I thought I would start actually posting my 3d work INTO the 3dsm group, since I have been watching it for so long.

Here is my progress on my Ship Model, La Couronne (The Crown?). I was wondering if I should use the cloth modifier on some of the ropes to add a bit of swaying when I put it in it's scene.
//click pic for bigger view

I guess its a bit High poly, (209,254p) and growing, but other than render time, there is no reason I really need to worry about it right now. I think the front is a bit narrow. I also stopped following the blueprints 100% because I found conflicting issues with other reference images, some with attributes I liked better.

Anyone Going to Siggraph this year?

My progress on my soon to be beautiful ship, La Couronne. It began to burn down in an accidental fire and was dragged off to sea so not to destroy the other ships docked... I shall resurrect her only to destroy her at sea in the storm I am simulating! MWAHAHAHAHA!!! its good to be an animator. Yah can make things to blow em up :-D. YAY FOR HAVOK'S REACTOR!

Well, I am working on my TV show intro, for the BBC News. If you haven't heard the new BBC theme, check it out here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-KM1CYwKOs

Well, while trying to find a link to download the entire sound file, I came across this comedian. I find this hilarious. I guess, its only funny if you know the bbc's theme.

Congrats everyone (and the world) on our new president. I only wish people would look to the future with hope of what the man might accomplish instead of dwelling on what they don't think he can. If you REALLY cared so much to help change the world, you would get your pedestal and go DO something in RL about it. I'm gonna look at what I can do to fight against Proposition 8.

thats the sound the umbrella would make.
I did this after work.

Wetzel wants us to animate primitive objects with only modifiers alone- to focus on animation... Her is what I came up with

A maverick is an unbranded range animal, especially a motherless calf; it can also mean a person who acts independent of thought; a lone dissenter; a non-conformist or rebel.

Palin and McCain seem to me the farthest thing from non-conformist. I dunno, maybe an unbranded range animal is what they are referring to. I seem to recall a quote "lipstick on a pig," and it seems to be quite fitting now.

I thought this was funny.

and this animation was worthy watching over and over. I like to analyze peoples work, seeing why certain things work and others dont. I love that the style IS NOT anime, and has been compared more to the "Gorillaz".

As the hours are rolling down till finals, my progress is getting better. So many little things to fix here and there. I don't really care anymore, but here is my progress. I will finish this by tomorrow afternoon and start finishing my char animation final.

Interior to exterior crazy transition.

I am having CRAZY lighting issues, mental ray is a bitch. I cant seem to make the bulbs or the lampshades self illuminate, or exclude them from light (specifically photons used in Global illumination)- its pissing me off. For the outside. I think i am just gonna put a generic curtain in each window, LOL. I am so sick of this project.

btw this was totally one my my FAV "Pure/24" songs...

LOL, well, here is the interior, I added some more to both interior and exterior, but I don't feel like re-rendering it out.

The room is based off of the Gothic revival styled room I saw at the Metropolitan museum of art.

Lighting- Its actually not "really" lit... YET (I cant wait to, I am gona do a twilight scene for both). I put a "SKYLIGHT" in, which simulates almost realistic ambient shadows (as if the light source was light bouncing off of a sky). Because of this I have some funky shadow issues, but I will work on that later, all that matters today is that the scene is modeled.
